2016 Annual Report • Public Works Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />In 2016, the Street Division used the following quantities as part of street <br />repair and maintenance: <br /> 100,000 square yards of crack filling materials on both blacktop and <br />concrete roadways <br /> 50,000 square yards of chip sealing as part of an annual program <br />PARKS DIVISION <br />The City Parks Division maintains a total of 5 primary parks (Emerald, <br />Central, Tower, Silver Point, and Trillium). The Parks Division is also <br />responsible for the maintenance of the stormwater retention ponds, ditch <br />lines and City owned properties. <br />Another aspect of the Parks Division is to maintain the City’s ice skating rinks. The ice skating <br />rinks were open for 40 days in the 2015-2016 skating season. Due to the mild weather in <br />December rinks did not open until January 11th. With consideration to the shortened season, <br />Public Works staff operated the warming houses during the week, while hired rink attendants <br />worked on the weekends.
