2017 Annual Report • Administration • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

47

VII. Community Planning and Economic
Development
In 2012, the city selected WSB & Associates, Inc as their consultant planner to complete all
planning related work for the city. Breanne Rothstein, AICP serves as the city’s planner, and she
serves as the staff liaision to the Planning Commission, reviews all land use and development
applications, work with residents on a variety of home improvement projects, and completes all
long range planning for the City of St. Anthony.
DEMOGRAPHICS
The City of St. Anthony has 9,234 residents, according to 2016 Metropolitan Council forecasts.
This is higher population than the 2040 forecasts produced several years ago, which will create
interesting challenges and opportunities for St. Anthony. St. Anthony has a higher than average
percentage of millennials and seniors when compared to Hennepin County or the State of
Minnesota. These facts will become critically important when examining policies and practices
moving forward.
