2017 Annual Report • Finance Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

5

The above represents gallons of water usage by Saint Anthony water customers in 2017 by day,
hour, minute and second. Residential customers used 195,497,187 gallons in 2017. With an
estimated population of 9,234 means an average daily use of 58 gallons per person.
2017 WATER CONSERVATION MEASURES
The Public Works department also
took advantage of the 2016 closure of
the Slash Pads to explore ways to
reduce water used by these facilities.
Through conversations with the
manufacturers and some ingenuity
on the part of the Publics works staff
a retro-fitting plan was developed for
each site. In addition the hours of
operation were reduced to exclude
operating when attendance was
historically sparse. Both of these
measures were put in place for the
2017 splash pad season. Upon season’s end the water usage for 2017 and 2015 was compared.
The results were an overall reduction of 7,306,670 gallons! Which equated to a 58% reduction at
Central Park and 25% at Emerald Park.

706,272 Gallons
per day

29,428 Gallons
per hour
490 Gallons
per minute
8 Gallons
per second
nd
