The Mayor passed your letter on to me to look into <br />the issues that you listed in your letter. <br />With that being said, the City's ordinance as well as State law does allow daycare <br />facilities in residential areas of the City. Minnesota Statute, M.S.§ 462.357, Subd. 7, <br />states that a daycare facility where supervision and care is provided for adults and three <br />(3) or more children is allowed to be located in a residential area of a city. Staff <br />understands that currently, these facilities are under no obligation to notify the City of <br />their existence or intent to establish a group home or daycare facility in the City. <br />Since you have sent a letter of complaint as a neighbor to this property, the <br />property owner of record will he advised that their facility has generated some <br />complaints. We will work with the owner to alleviate or reduce the impact that those <br />issues you listed in your letter have on the neighborhood. <br />If you have any additional concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to contact <br />me at 612-782-3312.
