City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />July 24, 2018 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />officers. The Body-worn Policy will be rolled out during the training. Police Chief Mangseth 1 <br />stated the officers are looking forward to wearing the cameras and squad cars will be equipped 2 <br />with tablet style Panasonic laptops that are currently be programmed. Squad car cameras have 3 <br />arrived and one is currently in service. All technology and cameras will be installed when the 4 <br />brackets arrive. Police Chief Mangseth explained that cameras are being purchased for the 5 <br />holding, booking, and processing areas. All new Hennepin County radios were deployed last 6 <br />week. Mayor Faust thanked Chief Mangseth for the update. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Sergeant Mike Huddle presented the plans for the August 7, 2018 Night to Unite event. Sergeant 9 <br />Huddle stated St. Anthony has participated in Night to Unite for 10 years. Visits to as many 10 <br />block parties as possible are done by Police, Fire, and the City Council. This effort is fully 11 <br />supported by the City. He noted that the Hennepin County Sherriff’s Office has given the City a 12 <br />limited number of Teraz Brand medication deactivation bags for Night to Unite. These bags are 13 <br />used for residents to safely dispose of prescription medications. Sergeant Huddle explained that 14 <br />block parties need to be registered by August 2 to receive a coupon from Cub Foods for a pail of 15 <br />ice cream. As of today, there are 39 block parties registered. He noted that City Clerk Nicole 16 <br />Miller has worked very hard on the events. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Councilmember Stille asked whether the Police Department gets to every single block party and 19 <br />Sergeant Huddle stated yes, a representative goes to every registered block party. He mentioned 20 <br />Council gets to as many block parties as they possibly can. Also, representatives from Finland 21 <br />will accompany the Councilmembers. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Mayor Faust mentioned that City Clerk Nicole Miller made the planning very easy. 24 <br /> 25 <br />C. Proclamation for Night to Unite on August 7, 2018. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Councilmember Gray read the Proclamation for Night to Unite on August 7, 2018. 28 <br /> 29 <br />III.
