3. St. Anthony Parks Commission (1 student)
4. Community Services Advisory Council (2 students)
5. SANB Health and Safety Committee (2 students)
6. St. Anthony Athletics and Activities Advisory Committee (2 students)
7. St. Anthony Sister City Board (2 students)
8. St. Anthony Villagers for Equity and Community (2 students)

Who is involved:
Students will be nominated by counselors and teachers as well as community individuals
regarding their skills, talents and leadership abilities.

How are students chosen?
Interested students will be asked to complete an application indicating their level of interest for
the various organizations. A panel of individuals comprised of school administrators will make
the final decision as to placement of students.

Are there any prerequisites?
It is preferred that students who wish to participate in the planning and parks commissions
should have completed a Students in Government opportunity so that they have a basic
knowledge of city functions. Students will be paid a stipend for attendance at meetings.

What are the benefits to the student?
Students will further develop their leadership skills in a particular arena. This experience may
be included on their resumes. Decision making within a board involves discussion, often
thinking outside of the box, with a learned knowledge of protocol and policy. This information
will prove to be an asset as students become future leaders and contributors in whatever area
of leadership they choose to participate.

What are the benefits to the school/community?
Successful boards involve the participation of all vested members. The inclusion of youth in
leadership provides valuable input as to how the generation thinks, processes, and creates
solutions to matters at hand.
