This terrified a lot of 36
the students. There were a lot of officers in the school and she feels she needs to act like a 37
different person to feel safe in school. She asked for safer gun control in school. 38
39
Ms. Naomi Tashoma stated they are girls that are making a difference because the adults could 40
not. This organization is important to her and going to school being a black woman is difficult. 41
She has been told school is a safe place but after the Parkland shooting, she opened her eyes 42
about gun violence. During the lockdown at school, her first thought was that guns were 43
involved. She asked Council if a school shooting does happen in St. Anthony, will they let it be 44
just the next school shooting or step up and make a change. She doesn’t want her innocent life to 45
be taken by a bullet and she goes to school fearing for her life and being bullied. 46
12
