City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />September 25, 2018 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br /> <br />There will be an Open House held Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 1-4pm. This is a free event. 1 <br /> 2 <br />Councilmember Randle asked about sending out push out notifications as a reminder for 3 <br />residents to check their smoke detectors and co detectors. Assistant Fire Chief Fuller thanked 4 <br />Councilmember Randle for the suggestion and mentioned it is included in the City Newsletter. 5 <br /> 6 <br />A question from the audience was asked about the date on smoke detectors. (Unidentified). The 7 <br />date is when the unit was manufactured. 8 <br /> 9 <br />B. Resolution 18-063; a Resolution Adoption of the Hennepin County All Hazard 10 <br />Mitigation Plan. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Fire Chief Mark Sitarz reviewed in 2010, the incorporated cities and Hennepin County formed 13 <br />an agreement which established the unification in the development of writing the plan. The 14 <br />Hennepin County Board of Commissioners and City Councils from each participating 15 <br />municipality were required to adopt the plan prior to its submittal to HSEM and FEMA for final 16 <br />approval. Fire Chief Sitarz explained the Plan in detail. 17 <br /> 18 <br />The Plan is intended to serve many purposes including: Enhance Public Awareness and 19 <br />Understanding, Create a Decision Tool for Management, Promote compliance with State and 20 <br />Federal Program Requirements, Enhance Local Policies for Hazard Mitigation Capability, 21 <br />Provide Inter-Jurisdictional Coordination of Mitigation-Related Programming and Achieve 22 <br />Regulatory Compliance. 23 <br /> 24 <br />A copy of the Plan is available by contacting Fire Chief Sitarz. Council is requested to vote in 25 <br />favor of adoption of the plan. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve Resolution 28 <br />18-063; a Resolution Adopting the Hennepin County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Motion carried 5-0. 31 <br /> 32 <br />C. Resolution 18-064; a Resolution Supporting St. Anthony Village High School’s Voter 33 <br /> Registration Day, September 25, 2018. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Councilmember Stille read the resolution in full. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve Resolution 38 <br />18-064; a Resolution Supporting St. Anthony Village High School’s Voter Registration Day 39 <br />September 25, 2018. 40 <br />Motion carried 5-0. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Mayor Faust noted this came before Council two weeks ago and Council was able to respond. 43 <br />This is a good example of cooperation.
