9. DISCIPLINE. <br />9.1. The EMPLOYER will discipline EMPLOYEES for just cause only. Discipline will be in one or <br />more of the following forms: <br />9.1.1. Oral reprimand; <br />9.1.2. Written reprimand; <br />9.1.3. Suspension; <br />9.1.4. Demotion; <br />9.1.5. Discharge. <br />9.2. Discipline that is placed in the EMPLOYEE'S personnel file shall be read and acknowledged by <br />signature of the EMPLOYEE. The UNION and the EMPLOYEE involved will receive a copy of <br />such discipline. <br />9.3 Discharges will be preceded by a five (5) day suspension without pay. <br />9.4. EMPLOYEES will not be questioned concerning an investigation of disciplinary action unless <br />the EMPLOYEE has been given an opportunity to have a UNION representative present at such <br />questioning. <br />9.5. Grievances relating to this Article shall be initiated by the UNION at the Step 3 level of the <br />Grievance Procedure of Article 6. <br />9.5.1 If, as a result of the written response to 6.1.3 Step 3, the grievance remains unresolved <br />and if the grievance involves the suspension, demotion or discharge of an EMPLOYEE <br />who has completed the required probationary period, the grievance may be appealed to <br />Step 4 of Article 6 or a procedure such as Veteran's Preference or Fair Employment. If <br />appealed to any procedure other than Step 4 of Article 6, the grievance is not subject to <br />arbitration as provided in Step 4 of Article 6 of this AGREEMENT. <br />9.6. EMPLOYEES may examine their own individual personnel files at reasonable times under the <br />direct supervision of the EMPLOYER. <br />10. WAGE SCHEDULE. <br />10.1. EMPLOYEES working out of classification will receive the hourly rate of that position. When a <br />FEO /Firefighter is working out of class, as shift officer on duty, they are paid Captain Wages. <br />10.2. Hourly salary for Fire Marshall, Captain and Fire Fighter /FEO shall be as follows: <br />2019 2020 <br />Fire Marshall /Assistant Chief $30.24 $31.22 <br />Captain $26.20 $27.05 <br />Firefighter <br />After 3 Years <br />$24.59 <br />$25.39 <br />After 2 Years <br />$24.00 <br />$24.78 <br />After 1 Years <br />$23.34 <br />$2410 <br />After 6 Months <br />$22.72 <br />$23.46 <br />Start <br />$22.18 <br />$22.90 <br />
