2018 Annual Report • Administration • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

46

The Historical Society also has digitized their most prized possessions: Records of
births and deaths from 1870 until 1900 and the St. Anthony Township Annual
meeting minutes from 1858 to the Village’s incorporation as a city in 1945. The
birth and death records and township meeting minutes are available on the St.
Anthony Village Historical Society’s webpage through the City of St. Anthony
website and also on the Minnesota Historical Society’s website.
The St. Anthony Village Historical Society is governed by its’ Board of Trustees - a
group of committed volunteers. They appreciate community support whether monetarily,
purchasing its books or participating in its programs.

St. Anthony Kiwanis

"We build" is a guiding principle for the members of the Kiwanis Club of St. Anthony Village.
Through volunteering and service projects, they build relationships with people of all ages.
The St. Anthony Kiwanis chapter began in 1962 and has grown to 44 men and women. The club
sponsors three youth service clubs: a K-Kids Club (45 members) at Wilshire Park Elementary
School, a Builders Club (53 members) at St. Anthony Middle School, and a Key Club (31
members) at St. Anthony High School. We also support an Aktion Club (14 members), which
offers activities for mentally and physically challenged adults. Each of these service clubs
provides members with opportunities to perform service, build character and develop skills.
Just visit any of these clubs and you will witness how students can make a difference in their
school, and community.
You may have noticed Kiwanis members handing out peanuts on street corners or at businesses.
Peanut Day is one of the most important fundraising days of the year. Not only do the members
give away peanuts, it's also their way of thanking the many people who contribute money to the
club's projects. Their donations are used to support the youth clubs we sponsor, to provide
scholarships for high school seniors, and to support many other service projects.
If you would like to learn more about our club, come to a meeting. Meetings last an hour and
are held on the second, third and fourth Wednesdays of each month at the Culver's Restaurant
