City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />February 26, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />City Manager Casey provided a summary PowerPoint presentation of the 2019 Strategic Plan. 1 <br />The strategic planning session was held on January 10-11, 2019 with 32 participants. Mr. Casey 2 <br />reviewed the team members, the process, and the progression. The updated vision is “Saint 3 <br />Anthony is an innovative and vibrant community that values our unique environment, providing 4 <br />a full range of quality services, and is a thriving city in which to live, work, learn and play”. The 5 <br />accomplishments and long-term priorities were reviewed. Guest speakers from Hennepin 6 <br />County spoke on how communications drive reputation management, strategic communication 7 <br />and engagement. The Strategic Plan and the Pyramid can be found on the City’s website. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Councilmember Stille referred to the vision statement and noticed the word desirable should be 10 <br />thriving. City Manager Casey stated he will have it corrected. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Mayor Faust complimented the City Manager and staff on the pre-work done prior to the 13 <br />sessions. This helps St. Anthony move forward and is a basis for best practices. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve the 2019 16 <br />Strategic Plan as presented. 17 <br />Motion carried 5-0. 18 <br /> 19 <br />B. St. Anthony Administration Department Annual Report. 20 <br /> 21 <br />City Manager Casey provided the Annual Administration Department Report. The organizational 22 <br />chart was reviewed. A review of the City Councilmembers, the organizations/committees they 23 <br />are liaison to, and 2018 Council Meetings was provided. The 2018 Highlights included the 2040 24 <br />Comprehensive Plan Update, Government Alliance on Race & Equity, Students in Government 25 <br />& Youth in Leadership, Technology, Salo Visitors, Collaborative Reform, Body Camera, 26 <br />Emergency Management Exercise, GreenStep 5, GreenCorp, Sustainability Fair, Organics Drop 27 <br />Off, Goal Setting Session, and Conferences and Meetings. A Tour of the City was held on May 28 <br />24, 2018 including the Mayor/Council, City Manager, Department Heads, Engineer, Planner, 29 <br />Planning Commission Chair and Parks Commission Member. A summary of Human Resources 30 <br />was provided. Ways to Connect and Engage, Elections, Spring Clean-Up Day, Fix-It Clinic & 31 <br />Tech Dump, Sustainability, Community Affiliations, Grants & Cooperative Ventures, 32 <br />Development, 2018 Building Permit Valuation, the Planning Commission reviews were also 33 <br />provided. The entire report can be found on the City’s website. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Councilmember Gray stated he is amazed at what the City Administration Staff has 36 <br />accomplished. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Councilmember Stille stated all the department reports will be presented in upcoming meetings. 39 <br />At goal-setting, social media was discussed and will be part of improved communication within 40 <br />the City. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Mayor Faust stated all accomplishments are important to St. Anthony being a well-run City.
