2018 Annual Report • Public Works Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br /> <br />2018 SUSTAINABILITY FAIR <br />On November 17th, over 200 people attended <br />the Sustainability Fair at City Hall, a joint <br />effort by the City and Citizens for <br />Sustainability community group. The Fair <br />featured 28 non-profit organizations, an <br />electric vehicle car show, electric bike <br />demonstrations, and three special guest <br />speakers. This event provided an <br />opportunity for residents to think about how <br />to live more sustainably while connecting <br />with various community resources. <br /> <br />ORGANICS RECYCLING DROP-OFF SITE <br />In 2018, City staff partnered with Ramsey County to implement, build and operate the organics <br />recycling drop-off site at no additional cost to the city. This site is open 24/7 and is the second of <br />its kind in Ramsey County. St. Anthony’s site will play an important role in informing the <br />County’s strategy for implementing future drop-off sites in surrounding cities. Residents are <br />able to pick up free organics starter kits (bucket, bags, and information) at City Hall <br />Looking ahead to 2019, Sustainability Initiatives <br />include: <br /> Rain Barrel Workshop- Thursday, April 25th <br /> Parks Clean Up- April 27th <br /> Annual Spring Clean-Up Day- Saturday, May <br />4th <br /> Fix-It-Clinic- Saturday, October 26th <br /> Tech Dump- Saturday, October 26th <br />
