Resolution 19-033; a Resolution Approving the St. Anthony ADA Transition Plan for 1 <br />Pedestrian Facilities in the Public Right-of-Way. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Assistant City Engineer Messner reviewed the resolution with the Council and the Americans 4 <br />with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan for pedestrian facilities the public right-of-way. He 5 <br />provided a PowerPoint presentation that included information on the background and need; 6 <br />purpose of an ADA Transition Plan, steps to compliance; public notice, grievance procedure and 7 <br />ADA coordinator; self-evaluation of City-owned pedestrian facilities; implementation approach; 8 <br />and public outreach. Assistant City Engineer Messner noted the proposed resolution would 9 <br />approve the ADA Transition Plan. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Councilmember Stille stated that he felt the inventory was very helpful and can be referred to 12 <br />with every street project that comes through. He asked who a citizen should contact if they have 13 <br />a complaint, because he knows some of this is outside of the City’s jurisdiction. City Manager 14 <br />Casey stated that people can contact him and he will send them to the appropriate entity. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Councilmember Jenson stated that this document has been available on the website for a month 17 <br />and noted that he appreciates the approach from staff and feels the document is well written. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Motion by Councilmember Jenson, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to adopt Resolution 19-20 <br />033; a Resolution Approving the St. Anthony ADA Transition Plan for Pedestrian Facilities in 21 <br />the Public Right-of-Way. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Motion carried 5-0. 24 <br /> 25 <br />D. St. Anthony Public Works Department Annual Report. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Public Works Director Hartman used a PowerPoint to present information on the 2018 Public 28 <br />Works Annual Report. He reviewed the Public Works Mission Statement; the make-up of the 29 <br />Public Works Divisions and their duties; Completed Projects; Street and Utility Improvement 30 <br />Projects Schedule; Proposed 2019 Improvement Projects; Citywide Sustainability Initiatives. He 31 <br />showed a picture of the current staff members in the Public Works Department and stated that 32 <br />they are some of the most dedicated people he has met and they are truly “people serving 33 <br />people”. He noted that the entire report is available on the City website. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Councilmember Gray stated that the brine usage was less this year than the last two years and 36 <br />asked if there were less snow events this year, even though the total snowfall amounts were a lot 37 <br />more. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Public Works Director Hartman stated that he believes there were less events this year and more 40 <br />brine was used last year because there was more of a need for de-icing. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Councilmember Gray asked if the new equipment could have contributed to the decreased usage 43 <br />in brine. Public Works Director Hartman stated that could also be a factor in that decrease. 44 <br /> 45 <br />7
