The current base fee for most residential applications is <br />$250, and escrow amounts vary depending on the size and scope of the project. <br /> <br />It has been the City’s intention that such applicants cover the costs of the review and <br />processing of these applications, on the understanding the costs of a request for land <br />use development that exceeds the basic zoning allowances should not be borne by <br />other property owners in the Village. <br /> <br />There is commonly a certain amount of confusion among applicants over several <br />aspects of the land use application process. That confusion includes the discretionary <br />aspect of the Planning Commission and City Council reviews, and how the applications <br />fees and escrows are used by the City. Staff works to minimize this confusion through <br />pre-application meetings or conferences, however, staff is proposing some incremental <br />changes to the process to promote greater clarity and understanding. <br /> <br />Two such changes are a part of this workshop discussion.
