City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />July 9 , 2019 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />City Manager Casey noted recently the City participated in the 103rd Annual LMC Conference. 1 <br />The LMC is 853 cities and this year’s conference was in Duluth. St. Anthony received an award 2 <br />for GreenStep 5 in sustainability efforts. The other award received was a City of Excellence 3 <br />Award for water treatment. Mayor Faust noted this year more requirements were added to being 4 <br />Step 5. This is due to the dedication of all the departments in the City. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Councilmember Randle reported he attended the LMC Annual Conference and got a lot out of 7 <br />the sessions he attended, especially Engaging with Residents. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Councilmember Jenson stated he also attended the LMC Annual Conference and attended 10 <br />several sessions. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Councilmember Stille also attended the LMC Annual Conference and participated in sessions 13 <br />and networking with other city officials. The celebration of receiving the awards at the closing 14 <br />session. The CC Ludwig Award was presented to Mayor Faust. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Councilmember Gray stated he also attended the LMC Annual Conference and agreed that 17 <br />Mayor Faust receiving the award was huge since no award can give justice to Mayor Faust. 18 <br />Councilmember Gray reviewed some of Mayor Faust’s background. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Mayor Faust spoke on Urban Rural Divide, noting connections between In-State and Out-State 21 <br />were made and there are many commonalities. The Governor spoke on Friday morning at the 22 <br />Conference. He tries to work across party lines. Mayor Faust stated the community should be 23 <br />honored with the CC Ludwig Award as he had support from Council, City staff, and residents. 24 <br />He noted this is an award for the City of St. Anthony and thanked the residents, staff, and 25 <br />Council. 26 <br /> 27 <br />VIII.
