CALL TO ORDER. <br />11 Vice Chair Koehntop called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and welcomed everyone in <br />12 attendance. <br />13 <br />14 II. ROLL CALL. <br />15 Present: Vice Chair Doug Koehntop, Commissioners Julie Gebhardt, <br />16 Colleen Hallada, Daniel Ganley and Erich Young. <br />17 <br />18 Absent: Chair Carol Jindra and Commissioner Eva Knudson. <br />19 <br />20 Also Present: Public Works Director Jay Hartman; Representative from the <br />21 School Board Denise Dunn; Rich Koechlien, URS. <br />22 <br />23 III. APPROVAL SEPTEMBER 13, 2004 PARKS COMMISSION MINUTES. <br />74 <br />Motion by Commissioner Young, second by Commissioner Ganley, to approve the September 13, 2004 <br />26 Parks Commission Meeting Minutes as presented. <br />27 <br />28 Motion carried unanimously <br />29 <br />30 IV. PARKS UPDATE <br />31 <br />32 A. URS Final Update <br />33 <br />34 Rich Koechlien, URS Representative, stated that last Thursday he, along with Chair Jindra and Public <br />35 Works Director Hartman, did a walkthrough of the park to review the trees. He stated that they <br />36 identified and marked 25 shrubs and trees noting that it was decided, due to the lateness of the season, <br />37 that the trees and shrubs would be replanted in the spring. He stated that he is working with the General <br />38 Contractor on the type of trees that would be replanted noting that they can only plant trees listed on the <br />39 approved list. He reviewed the replacement and costing process with the Commission. <br />40 <br />41 Vice Chair Koehntop asked if the identified trees have been marked and documented. Mr. Koechlien <br />42 stated that the trees were marked and cross-referenced. He stated that he would verify some of the <br />43 issues. He stated that some of the Hackberry's appeared to be a bit dry noting that he plans to do another <br />44 walkthrough to check and verify their condition. <br />45 <br />Commissioner Ganley asked if the tree replacement constitutes the only hold back in final payment. He <br />4 , referenced the receding edges along the trail system, noting earlier discussions to over -seed along the <br />48 sides of the trails and asked if this concern has been addressed.
