'Parks Commission Meeting Minutes <br />May 10, 2004 <br />Page 3 <br />1 that she has received pricing for food items noting that she would provide the estimates to Chair Jindra <br />2 for inclusion. <br />3 <br />4 Chair Jindra provided the Commission with a brief overview of her presentation noting that it is her <br />5 hope to receive direction from Council regarding the budget and they can then move forward with the <br />6 planning for the Grand Opening event. <br />7 <br />8 C. Silver Point Park Update <br />9 <br />10 Chair Jindra asked if the fields at Silver Point Park had been reviewed recently and if the seeding had <br />11 taken. Public Works Director Hartman stated that several areas were reseeded and it appears that some <br />12 is taking. He stated that the Public Works crews are in the parks regularly noting that due to the rain <br />13 they would be reviewing the areas. <br />14 <br />15 Commissioner Ganley noted that the areas are difficult to get to for watering and asked if it is solely <br />16 dependent upon rainfall or is there a watering schedule. Public Works Director Hartman explained that <br />17 the Public Works crews have been watering the area regularly and reviewed with the Commission. <br />18 <br />19 V. REPORTS. <br />20 <br />A. Community Services. <br />22 <br />23 None. <br />24 <br />25 B. School Board. <br />26 <br />27 School Board Representative Rick Dunn reviewed the baseball dedication event with the Commission <br />28 noting that it was very nice to see the Mayor and City Council Member representation at the event. He <br />29 stated that the event and games have been very well attended noting that it is a real tribute to the park to <br />30 see the people using the park and having all of the fields being used again. He thanked the Commission <br />31 for all of their hard work and also for their encouragement and support with respect to the improvements <br />32 on the varsity fields. He stated that it is their hope, once the Softball Boosters are going, that they can <br />33 begin to contribute to the maintenance of the parks. He stated that they are in beautiful condition now <br />34 and they would like to work together with the City Staff to keep the area well maintained. <br />35 <br />36 Chair Jindra thanked Mr. Dunn for the compliments and agreed that it is great to have the park back to <br />37 enjoy. She stated that the dedication was a great event noting that everyone had a good time. <br />38 <br />39 Mr. Dunn stated that this would be the home park for both the VFW and American Legion teams. He <br />40 stated that they might also have some games going the day of the Grand Opening noting that it would be <br />41 a great time for everyone. <br />C.
