School Board. <br />8 <br />9 School Board Representative Diane Dunn stated that school has been in session for two weeks noting <br />10 that the District enrollment this fall is 1,663 students, up from last year. She announced that next week <br />11 is homecoming week and reviewed the schedule with the Conunission. She noted that the football game <br />12 is scheduled for Friday, September 24, 2004 and invited everyone to come and join in the fun. <br />13 <br />14 C. Sports Boosters. <br />15 <br />16 Chair Jindra stated that Mr. Zurbey has resigned from the Parks Commission as the Representative for <br />17 the Sports Boosters. She stated that a new Representative would be appointed noting that it would <br />18 probably be sometime after the first of the year. <br />19 <br />2 VI. OTHER BUSINESS. <br />21 <br />22 Chair Jindra stated that this would be her last meeting with the Parks Commission adding that she is in <br />23 the process of transitioning her responsibilities to Vice Chair Koehntop. She thanked the Commission <br />24 for all of their hard work. <br />25 <br />26 Commissioner Ganley noted that the soccer fields have been reconfigured in Central Park and provided <br />27 an overview for the Commission. He commented on the length of the grass on the ball fields stating that <br />28 from his observation, long grass makes for a slower field. Public Works Director Hartman agreed and <br />29 explained that because it is new they are allowing some of the growth. He further explained that over <br />30 time the grass would be cut shorter and reviewed the process with the Commission. <br />31 <br />32 Public Works Director Hartman stated that the City of St. Anthony will have two seats available on the <br />33 Parks Commission beginning January 1, 2005. He explained that the Parks Commission is a volunteer <br />34 _group, which advises the City Council regarding the development of park facilities in the City of St. <br />35 Anthony. He further explained that the Parks Commission meets on the second Monday of every month <br />36 at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Anthony City Hall. He stated that anyone interested in becoming a member of <br />37 this Commission should send a letter of interest with their resume to the City Manager, 3301 Silver Lake <br />38 Road, St. Anthony, Minnesota, 55418. He stated that applications are being accepted until Friday, <br />39 October 22, 2004. <br />40 <br />41 Public Works Director Hartman noted that the next Parks Commission meeting is scheduled for October <br />4_ _ 11t', which is a holiday. He suggested rescheduling the meeting and asked the Commission to update <br />43 him on what they would like to do before the end of the month. <br />44 <br />45 Vice Chair Koehntop expressed concerns stating that there are several trees in the park that are looking <br />
