1 Parks Commission Meeting Minutes 2 December 2, 2002 3 Page 2 4 5 6 George Zurbey asked if there are any additional cost or change orders on the 7 Central Park Pavilion 8 9 Mr. Forbrook indicated that there were no change orders and that the building 10 should be completed on schedule. 11 12 Mr. Forbrook reported to the Parks Commission that the Silver Point Park 13 warming house construction has started and the building footings and excavation 14 have been completed. 15 16 Resident Russ Karkula spoke to the Parks Commission on the current location of 17 the warming house and requested moving the footprint to a more easterly 18 direction. Mr. Karkula indicated that moving the building would lesson the 19 liability and safety issues for the City. He also indicated that safety issues 20 regarding the park lighting poles needs to be addressed. 21 22 Resident John Kieffer stated to the Parks Commission that the new retaining wall 23 should also be looked at from a safety stand point. 24 25 Chair Carol Jindra stated that based on the most recent concerns a site tour should 26 be scheduled. 27 28 The Commission agreed to meet Thursday, December 5, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. at 29 Silver Point Park to address all park related concerns. 30 31 Rich Cashin (URS) provided an overview of the Central Park baseball fields and a 32 schedule for the remaining work. He indicated the cost for installing additionally 33 drain tile would be split between the consultant and contractor. The work will be 34 performed this year weather permitting. 35 36 VI.
