1 Parks Commission Meeting Minutes <br />2 December 2, 2002 <br />3 Page 2 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 George Zurbey asked if there are any additional cost or change orders on the <br />7 Central Park Pavilion <br />8 <br />9 Mr. Forbrook indicated that there were no change orders and that the building <br />10 should be completed on schedule. <br />11 <br />12 Mr. Forbrook reported to the Parks Commission that the Silver Point Park <br />13 warming house construction has started and the building footings and excavation <br />14 have been completed. <br />15 <br />16 Resident Russ Karkula spoke to the Parks Commission on the current location of <br />17 the warming house and requested moving the footprint to a more easterly <br />18 direction. Mr. Karkula indicated that moving the building would lesson the <br />19 liability and safety issues for the City. He also indicated that safety issues <br />20 regarding the park lighting poles needs to be addressed. <br />21 <br />22 Resident John Kieffer stated to the Parks Commission that the new retaining wall <br />23 should also be looked at from a safety stand point. <br />24 <br />25 Chair Carol Jindra stated that based on the most recent concerns a site tour should <br />26 be scheduled. <br />27 <br />28 The Commission agreed to meet Thursday, December 5, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. at <br />29 Silver Point Park to address all park related concerns. <br />30 <br />31 Rich Cashin (URS) provided an overview of the Central Park baseball fields and a <br />32 schedule for the remaining work. He indicated the cost for installing additionally <br />33 drain tile would be split between the consultant and contractor.
