Parks Commission Meeting Minutes <br />October 13, 2003 <br />Page 3 <br />44- <br />45 Commissioner Jensen asked if the placement is per the print noting that if it is per print it should be at <br />1 Koechlien to review this area to be sure that the seams were taken care of appropriately. Mr. Koechlien <br />2 stated that these areas are on the overall punch list and would be addressed. <br />3 <br />4 Chair Jindra noted several cracks in the cemented areas and asked if these areas would be corrected. <br />5 Mr. Koechlien stated that they would include these areas on the Warranty Punch List and suggested that <br />6 they wait until spring to see if more cracks appear. <br />7 <br />8 Chair Jindra referenced the water fountains stating the colors are mismatched. She stated that they <br />9 would like this corrected before the official opening of the park. <br />10 <br />11 Chair Jindra referenced the grading in the hockey area and asked if this would be resolved. Mr. <br />12 Koechlien explained that Veit has been out several times to re -grade the area and that it is his <br />13 understanding that they probably would not be back. Chair Jindra expressed concerns stating that this <br />14 has to be resolved. Mr. Koechlien stated that he would work out the issues with Veit. <br />15 <br />16 Mr. Zurbey asked Mr. Koechlien when the boards would be completed. Mr. Koechlien stated that they <br />17 are working on and it is their hope to have them completed in time for the winter season. Mr. Zurbey <br />18 asked Mr. Hartman to clarify the completion date. Mr. Hartman stated that they would like to have it <br />19 resolved by the end of the month, if not, it would be completed in the spring. Mr. Zurbey expressed <br />20 concerns regarding safety stating that they want it done for the winter season. Mr. Koechlien stated that <br />( they could possibly hire a sub to come in and finish the work. <br />2L <br />23 Chair Jindra referenced the netting and expressed concerns regarding safety. She requested that the <br />24 netting be cut away from the grass areas and the batting areas. Mr. Koechlien confirmed that this would <br />25 be completed. <br />26 <br />27 Chair Jindra stated that the fields look very nice noting two erosion spots near the practice area. She <br />28 stated that the soccer field still looks pretty rough and asked that this be addressed. Mr. Koechlien <br />29 stated that they would review the areas and include them onto the punch list. He stated that they would <br />30 monitor the erosion areas adding that they would probably re -seed in the spring. <br />31 <br />32 Chair Jindra referenced the varsity field areas and asked Troy Urdahl for an update. <br />33 <br />34 Troy Urdahl, Varsity Baseball Coach, provided the Commission with an update. He stated that the trees <br />35 are planted, home plate and the pitcher mound has been installed and completed, the base pegs are <br />36 installed and reviewed the locations with the Commission. He noted that the peg along the third base <br />37 line was off and that they have discussed ways to address this issue. He stated that their biggest obstacle <br />38 would be the irrigation system and reviewed his concerns with the Commission. He stated that he <br />39 would provide the Commission with an update on their progress with this issue. <br />40 <br />41 Commissioner Gebhardt asked how difficult it would be to move the irrigation heads for the 1st and 3`d <br />42 baseline areas. Mr. Koechlien stated that moving the irrigation heads would not be that difficult to do <br />noting that it would disrupt the sod. Mr. Zurbey asked if he had any suggestions to fix the problem. <br />
