Parks Commission Meeting Minutes <br />November 8, 1999 <br />Page 7 <br />1 pared, and possibly approved by the City Council; and then invite the architects to a meeting to <br />2 fine-tune issues. <br />3 Jindra suggested the idea of educating the public on the progress and vision of the Commission. <br />4 Wolff suggested letting the public aware that the Commission is searching for additional land. <br />5 Koehntop agreed that the public needed to be made aware of the City's need for more public <br />6 space. Wagner suggested that the plans for alternate fields be a priority in the plan. <br />7 Mr. Zirby (visiting the Parks Commission meeting) asked if the Sports Boosters should look into <br />8 other communities and the possibility of alternative fields. Jensen said that he would need <br />9 specific dates in order to approach any of the local communities. Mr. Zirby offered that the issue <br />10 at hand would most likely involve the older kids' fields. <br />I1 Jensen stated that he would discuss this issue at the December Sports Boosters meeting. <br />12 IX. REPORTS. <br />13 A. Community Services. <br />14 There was not a report from Community Services due to the absence of Diana Roadfeldt. <br />.5 B. School Board. <br />16 Wolff recapped that she is moving soon to St. Louis, Missouri and that the Commission would <br />17 be receiving a new School Board Representative. <br />18 She reported that there have been bids placed for the fire road regarding installation of gates and <br />19 the Board is currently taking matters into consideration. Unfortunately, the fire road is <br />20 mistakenly being utilized by residents as a parking lot. <br />21 Jindra asked about the status of the bleacher work. Wolff reported that the work would begin <br />22 next summer. Jensen reported that a new scoreboard would be installed within a week's time. <br />23 Wolff mentioned that she doesn't believe there are enough trashcans placed around the football <br />24 field judging from the amount of trash left on the ground after games. <br />25 Jindra offered that more trashcans would be helpful at Water Tower Park as well. <br />26 Koehmop suggested that the School Board make a recommendation for more trashcans. <br />27 C. Sports Boosters. <br />28 Jensen reported that he would have leverage to discuss alternative fields with local communities <br />29 as soon as he was provided dates. <br />l 30 Jindra reported that she had checked Water Tower Park around 3:40 or 3:50 p.m. and noticed a <br />31 number of skateboarders. She asked the skateboarders to stop skating on the ledges in Water <br />
