Parks Commission Meeting Minutes <br />November 8, 1999 <br />Page 6 <br />I Jindra believed it is the Commission's responsibility as a group to get together and decide on <br />2 proposals to present to the City Council in a timely fashion. <br />3 Mr. Wong asked if his attendance was needed further at the meeting. Jindra thanked Mr. Wong <br />4 for his input and suggestions for the Commission. <br />5 VII. UPDATE ON PARKS COMMISSIONERS TERMS. <br />6 Jindra stated that Commissioner Louiselle had decided to finish his term through the end of this <br />7 year, and would not be renewing his position. Louiselle stated that he had given a great deal of <br />8 thought to his decision and had decided to spend more time with his family and allow someone <br />9 else an opportunity as Commissioner. Jindra expressed appreciation for Louiselle's work as a <br />10 Commissioner and thanked him for his input and contributions. <br />11 Also, Jindra stated that School Board Representative Kathie Wolff would be soon moving to St. <br />12 Louis, Missouri and would be resigning her position as School Board Representative. Jindra <br />13 mentioned that Wolff has been with the Commission from the beginning and wished to thank her <br />14 for her efforts and contributions in working with the Commission. <br />15 Jindra further stated that Commissioner Kosciolek has recently married and is not living within <br />16 the city limits of St. Anthony. Kosciolek will finish her term through the end of this year, or until <br />17 a replacement is found. <br />18 Jindra stated that there have been some residents interested in becoming a member of the Parks <br />19 Commission. Interviews will be starting soon and Jindra encouraged anyone interested to apply. <br />20 Wolff confirmed with Mr. Hartman that interviews are scheduled to begin the end of November <br />21 VIII. DISCUSS PROPOSED ITEMS FOR FUTURE MEETINGS. <br />22 Jindra pointed out that she hoped the Commission would work on a plan or vision for developing <br />23 Central Park. Wolff asked Jindra how she planned on obtaining public input. Jindra felt that a <br />24 preliminary plan should be presented to the public in order to obtain input. <br />25 Jindra suggested holding a Commission meeting that focused on park design and to publicize this <br />26 meeting in hopes that the residents would attend. She also reminded the Commission that their <br />27 mailboxes in City Hall could be utilized as well. Jindra reiterated her previous statement that the <br />28 Commission should have a joint meeting with the Sports Boosters, and possibly other entities as <br />29 well. <br />30 Hallada suggested obtaining a copy of the current plan for Central Park and putting it on display. <br />31 Jensen suggested approaching this situation by presenting the plan as a previously approved plan <br />32 and ask for suggestions. <br />33 Jindra said the Commission should focus on questions to be presented to the Council, and she in - <br />34 quired if the architects should be present as well. Koehntop suggested that a wish list be pre- <br />
