Parks Commission Meeting Minutes <br />June 12, 2000 <br />Page 4 <br />1 fencing contractor, for a total price of approximately $45,000. If this project could move <br />2 forward in June, the rink could ultimately be in place by VillageFest. <br />3 In response to inquiries by Thuesen regarding the proposed site, Jensen stated it would be near <br />4 the Police Department and next to the Community Center, and somewhat hidden from Silver <br />5 Lake Road. <br />6 Jindra thanked Jensen for his excellent proposal and said that the details of the plan would be <br />7 reviewed and considered. <br />8 Motion by George Wagner, second by Hallada, to recommend the skateboarding rink that Jan <br />9 Jensen researched and proposed, to the City Council at the City Council meeting on July 13, <br />10 2000. <br />11 <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />12 IV. POSTPONEMENT OF SILVER POINT PARK GRAND OPENING. <br />13 Jindra mentioned that she had talked to all the Commissioners earlier by phone about this issue, <br />14 and suggested that the discussion be postponed until the next Parks Commission meeting on July <br />15 10, 2000. <br />16 V. APPROVE MAY 1, 2000 PARKS COMMISSION MINUTES. <br />17 Motion by Gebhardt, second by Hallada, to approve the Minutes of the May 1, 2000 Parks <br />18 Commission meeting as presented. <br />19 <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />20 VI. REPORTS. <br />21 A. Community Services. <br />22 No report from Community Services Representative Diane Skrivseth. <br />23 B. School Board. <br />24 No report from School Board Representative Denise Dunn. <br />25 C. Sports Boosters. <br />26 Zurbey reported that there had not been a meeting of the Sports Boosters this month, but that last <br />27 month he had forewarned the organization about the fields not being available for two years. <br />28 The question at that meeting was the exact dates (years) that the fields would be unavailable. <br />29 Zurbey stated that he will take the issues discussed at the meeting tonight to the next Sports <br />30 Boosters meeting. He considered many of the residents' concerns that were discussed tonight to <br />31 be time -management issues. <br />
