Then the permanent bathrooms could be located at <br />Watertower Park. <br />Gebhardt asked if the concession stand would be closer to the skate park. Jindra stated the <br />separate concession stand would be eliminated. She noted this is partly due to the price <br />estimates. <br />Commissioner Jensen stated his support for this proposal. <br />Gebhardt stated several comments were made at the neighborhood meeting about the lack of <br />bathrooms and the distance to the bathrooms. Jindra stated they may ask the high school to place <br />satellite bathrooms during the summer months. <br />Mr. Hartman reviewed the cost estimates that were made. <br />Zurbey noted the location of the existing sewer and water services and asked if that is a <br />consideration. Mr. Kost stated new utility services are needed anyway so the cost would not be <br />significant. <br />Anderson stated the cost estimates being used today are based on $150 per square foot. <br />Mr. Kost stated he believes combining the buildings will be more cost effective and efficient. <br />Jindra reviewed the building elements and configuration of the redesigned shelter. She noted the <br />open pavilion space and the concession area located in the center. She stated they talked about <br />using a color that is non -intrusive and blends into the area. <br />Zurbey expressed concern about the distance from the fields to the concession stand. Anderson <br />estimated it may add 100 feet in distance. <br />Jindra suggested that Ms. Olivier be asked to recalculate the estimate based on this consolidated <br />design. <br />Anderson stated the shelter was estimated at $114 per square foot and Ms. Olivier indicated she <br />will work with $150 per square foot. <br />Gebhardt raise the issue of who will operate the concession stand. She stated she has heard <br />people do not want this to become a "tournament facility" but she supports putting in a <br />concession stand and figuring out the logistics later. Gebhardt asked if the concession stand will <br />be used a lot. <br />
