I CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br />3 PARKS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br />4 APRIL 12, 1999 <br />7 I. CALL TO ORDER. <br />8 The meeting was called to order by Chair Jindra at 7:00 PM. <br />10 II. ROLL CALL. <br />I t Present: <br />Chair Carol Jindra, Vice Chair Doug Koehntop, Commissioners <br />12 <br />Joanne Kosciolek, Paul Louiselle, and George Wagner. <br />13 Also Present: <br />Public Works Director Jay Hartman; Representative from <br />14 <br />Community Services (Diana Roadfeldt); Representative from <br />15 <br />School Board (Kathie Wolff); Representative from Sports Boosters <br />16 <br />(Jan Jensen); Todd Hubmer, WSB & Associates, Inc; Bob Kost <br />17 <br />and Augie Wong, BRW, Inc. <br />18 <br />19 III. <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 IV. <br />'5 <br />APPROVAL OF MARCH 8,1999 PARKS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES. <br />Motion by Kosciolek, second by Wagner to approve the minutes of the March 8, 1999 meeting. <br />DESIGNATION OF PARKS <br />COUNCIL. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />REPRESENTATIVE TO THE CITY <br />26 Jindra stated that it will not be necessary to send a Commission designee to upcoming City <br />27 Council or Planning Commission meetings as the Council is aware of the Commission's <br />28 activities and a joint work session is planned for June 1, 1999, from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM. She <br />29 stressed the importance of the joint work session and encouraged the Commissioners to attend. <br />30 Wolff noted that she has a conflict that evening due to a regular School Board meeting. <br />31 <br />32 V. REVIEW WATER TOWER PARK BIDS. <br />33 Jindra welcomed Bob Kost and Augie Wong, BRW, Inc. and invited them to address the <br />34 Commission. Kost stated that bids had been opened that day and 5 bids were received. He <br />35 presented the bid tabulation, adding the apparent low bidder was Jay Brothers, but noted that <br />36 after reviewing their bid they had projected their costs inaccurately. He stated that Arigoni <br />37 Brothers is the low bidder at $265,662.00. <br />38 <br />39 Koehntop asked whether Kost has working experience with the bidders. Kost stated he has <br />40 worked with most of the bidders, adding he would check references on Arigoni Brothers <br />41 tomorrow as bids had just opened that afternoon. <br />42 <br />43 Koehntop asked whether Jay Brothers had been contacted with regard to their incorrect bid. <br />44 Augie Wong, BRW, Inc., stated he had spoken with a contact there who indicated they would <br />45 check the error. Kost stated a recommendation for the City Council would be ready by tomorrow <br />46 evening's regular meeting. <br />47 <br />48 Wolff asked for clarification with regard to ordering of the playground equipment.
