Based on discussions at the
November 9dt Parks Commission meeting, refinement of the remainder of the Central Park
renovations will take place at a later date. The implementation of the Phase One improvements
are targeted to be completed by July 1,1999. These improvements will include site grading,
sidewalks, landscaping and decorative fencing supportive of a new multi-age play ground and a
basketball court.
The following work program outlines the tasks to be performed:
I. Field Surveying
The north portion of the park was surveyed this year for the upcoming flood control work. The
rest of the park and school properties need to be surveyed to prepare accurate plans and bid
documents. The survey work will focus on the south portion of the park along 33`d Street and the
water tower. This data will eventually be combined with data from the north and center portions
of the park to create a complete physical survey of Central Park.
• Obtain digital site data including, property boundaries, locations of sewer, water and
storm drain utility lines, buildings, trees over 8 inches in diameter, curb and gutter and
corresponding elevations, and etc. ..
Translate field data into a base map for accurately engineering proposed park
improvements.
Offices Worldwide
