I CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br />2 PARKS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br />3 SEPTEMBER 14, 1998 <br />4 I. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL. <br />5 The meeting was called to order by Chair Jindra. <br />6 Commissioners Present: Chair Carol Jindra, Vice Chair Doug Koehntop, Commissioners <br />7 Joanne Kosciolek, Paul Louiselle, and Don Siggelkow. <br />8 Also Present: Public Works Director Jay Hartman; Representative from <br />9 Community Services (George Wagner); Representative from <br />10 School Board (Kathie Wolff); Sports Boosters (Jan Jensen); Todd <br />11 Hubmer, WSB & Associates, Inc.; and Bob Kost, BRW. <br />12 Commissioners Absent: Tim Morris and Andrea Lambrecht. <br />13 II. APPROVAL OF AUGUST 10, 1998 PARKS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES. <br />14 <br />15 Motion by Koehntop, second by Siggelkow to approve the minutes of the August 10, 1998 <br />16 meeting. <br />- Motion carried unanimously. <br />18 III. DESIGNATION OF PARKS COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE TO PLANNING <br />19 COMMISSION AND CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS. <br />20 Koehntop agreed to attend the September 15, 1998 Planning Commission meeting. Chair Jindra <br />21 agreed to attend the September 22, 1998 City Council meeting. <br />22 IV. PRESENTATION OF ALTERNATIVE PLANS FOR SILVER POINT PARK. <br />23 Todd Hubmer, WSB, introduced Bob Kost, BRW Park Design, who chaired the Parks Task <br />24 Force and was instrumental in the progress of the design plans for Central and Silver Point Parks. <br />25 <br />26 Kost stated BRW is collaborating with Hubmer and WSB on 2 proposed configurations of <br />27 recreational facilities at Silver Point Park, which he presented to the Parks Commission. He <br />28 added there are alteration options for both proposed configurations. He stated the primary <br />29 difference between the 2 configurations is the location of the half basketball court, warming <br />30 house/shelter, and play area. <br />31 <br />32 Kost stated the softball fields would be approximately 210x200 feet and the soccer field would <br />33 be 150x200 feet which is suitable for youth sports through middle school. The other youth field <br />'14 is 150X150 feet. He added in this same area, a hockey arena would be erected in winter creating <br />l _ ., a multi-purpose configuration. <br />36 <br />
