APPROVAL SEPTEMBER 9, 2002 PARKS COMMISSION MINUTES.
Commissioner Gebhardt asked about the comment from the neighbor regarding the hockey
boards and asked what was the result. Chair Jindra replied Wayne Mikkola had requested they
consider making them temporary boards. She asked if staff had looked into that yet.

Mr. Hartman replied the original plan called for a permanent structure, but if they wanted to start
from square one and make it temporary, that was another project.

Chair Jindra stated there were gaps in the boards, which was a safety issue. Mr. Wong replied
they were looking at different options and the gaps in the boards were a safety hazard. He noted
they could use a different material that could be glued and screwed from the inside so all they
saw was a continuous surface, or they could over the gaps with 2 x 6, or put plywood on from the
back.

Chair Jindra asked if it would be uniform. Mr. Wong replied it would be.

Mr. Hartman stated in certain parks they were limited on space, but if at all possible, they
preferred a permanent structure.

Mr. Hartman stated on Page 5, Line 28 of last month's minutes, Sherry's last name was
Thompson.
