Mr. <br />Hartman noted that in addition, $1 million was to be taken from that Fund to be put towards this <br />project. <br />Mr. Zurbey stated these questions cannot be answered until the bids are received. Mr. Hartman <br />stated there needs to be a point where it is not worth building and rehabbing the building is an <br />option to consider. <br />Councilmember Hodson stated this is not an issue where the Council does not want to do it but, <br />rather, how it can be funded and what the City can afford. <br />Ms. Dunn arrived at 8:18 p.m. <br />Commissioner Jenson stated his support to get bids so the Commission can know if there is an <br />issue about the cost. <br />Chair Jindra stated if people were educated about the type of building being discussed, she thinks <br />they would perceive what the Commission envisions. She asked if tours of the New Brighton <br />facility should be offered. Ms. Olivier stated a forum could be held where a presentation is made <br />and photographs presented of how the building will appear in Central Park. <br />Councilmember Hodson stated he believes this process is beyond that point, unless a referendum <br />is needed. If that is the case, this project would be two to three years out in the future. <br />Chair Jindra stated she believes the City should reapply for the $100,000 grant that was lost last <br />year since it was not a soccer field. She stated she thinks the City would have a good chance of <br />getting that grant. <br />Councilmember Hodson suggested the information on fundraising options be brought back to <br />staff. <br />Mr. Zurbey stated he believes the City leadership needs to be more involved in this project and <br />take some ownership in it. <br />Chair Jindra stated there may be a need for a joint meeting and stated her opinion that the City <br />Hall project should be delayed rather than this park project. <br />Councilmember Hodson stated the Commission should make the Council aware if they are <br />
