Ms.
Olivier stated that she needed to meet ADH requirements with certain things.
Mr. Hartman stated that what Ms. Olivier presented was accommodating what the Parks
Commission has been requesting.
Mr. Anderson asked about the mechanical and custodial space. Ms. Olivier stated that there
were about 185 sq ft. intended for mechanical and custodial space. Mr. Kost stated that whatever
is planned for storage would be necessary and used.
Commissioner Zurbey stated that the extra $60,000 from Scheme A to Scheme B seemed to buy
them a lot.
Mr. Hartman asked what Ms. Olivier intended to put out to bid. Ms. Olivier stated that she
thought somewhere between Schemes B and C. She stated that they could do add alternates in
the bid.
Commissioner Zurbey suggested they examine the true use of the building. Chair Jindra said she
thought there were several things that would keep the building occupied: family reunions,
birthday parties, etc.
Representative from Community Services, Diane Skrivseth stated that she agreed with Ms.
Olivier to go with Scheme B, and cited the larger windows as important.
Ms. Olivier agreed with Chair Jindra and stated that the building could be used for several more
purposes than simply as a warming house.
Chair Jindra mentioned the similar building at New Brighton and stated that the building would
be used for things other than park functions, and that a cheaply constructed building would need
to be upgraded soon. She stated that it is important to do it right the first time.
Ms. Olivier stated she agreed with Chair Jindra and indicated that the character from Silver Point
Park would carry down to the Central Park Pavilion, if they went with Scheme B with some
additions.
Ms. Olivier stated that the contingency in the Central Park Pavilion was built in at 15%.
Ms. Olivier stated that the Commission could go with Scheme A, add the larger windows back
in, and addition some of the other features found in Schemes B and C.
Commissioner Zurbey suggested that they go with Scheme B, at least, and look at the Park
proposal, in relation to the decision on the building.
