Parks Commission Meeting Minutes <br />March 12, 2001 <br />Page 1 <br />CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br />PARKS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br />March 12, 2001 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />I. CALL TO ORDER. <br />Chair Jindra called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and welcomed everyone in attendance. <br />II. ROLL CALL. <br />Chair Carol Jindra, Commissioners Dan Ganley, Julie Gebhardt, Colleen Hallada, Jan <br />Jensen, Doug Koehntop and George Wagner <br />None. <br />Public Works Director Jay Hartman, Representative from Community Services Diane <br />Skrivseth; Representative from Sports Boosters George Zurbey <br />and Representative from School Board Denise Dunn. <br />APPROVE FEBRUARY 12, 2001 PARKS COMMISSION MINUTES. <br />Motion by Ganley, second by Hallada, to approve the February 12, 2001 Parks Commission <br />Meeting Minutes as submitted. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />IV. PRESENT FINAL DESIGN OF CENTRAL PARK - BOB KOST - BRW. <br />Jindra reported Bob Kost would be presenting the final design plan for Central Park to the <br />Commission. Mr. Kost indicated a subcommittee meeting was held last week to review the final <br />plans with Jindra and several park members. He reviewed the park plan and corresponding cost <br />estimate. <br />Jindra asked Mr. Kost to review the changes in this plan from the previous. Mr. Kost reviewed <br />the alterations in the plan and noted that in the northern part of the park there would be a new <br />playground area, wading pool, bicycle parking and trails. He added there would be a <br />reconstructed volleyball court and skating area, as well. <br />Mr. Kost noted all areas would be handicap accessible. He reported all trails would be bordered <br />by shade trees with scattered benches. Mr. Kost stated there would be eight -foot sidewalks at the <br />main entrance with handrails on each side of the steps. He indicated a watermain would be <br />replaced with these park changes. Mr. Kost stated with the proposed changes, the cost for this <br />park would run $1,829,459. <br />4 <br />
