(fl Failure to attend 4 or more scheduled meetings of the Parks Commission in a <br />calendar year, unless waived by the City Council after a written request from the <br />Parks Commission Member. <br />The. City will publish an open invitation to all residents interested in serving on the Parks <br />Commission to inform the city Manager in writing of their interest and desire to be interviewed <br />for a seat on the Parks commission. <br />306.05 Compensation, The Parks Commission members will serve without compensation. <br />306.06 Powers and Duties. The powers and duties of the Parks Commission shall be as follows: <br />(a) To prepare, revise, and maintain a comprehensive, long-termplan for the <br />redevelopment ofparks within the city. This plan shall be viewed as a working <br />document that serves as a framework and reference to future redevelopment. <br />(b) To make recommendations to and advise the City council and Staff regarding <br />park issues and ideas. <br />(c) To establish priorities and recommend a phasing plan and schedule for <br />implementing innovative park improvements, renovations and plans. <br />(d) To work with other Communities to explore cooperative arrangements to develop <br />connecting routes in the form of bikeways, walking paths and corridors of green <br />space wherever possible. <br />(e) To investigate funding sources, including requests for increases in the City <br />budget, designated for parks and green spaces. <br />U) To seek new areas for additional parks, natural areas, walking paths, bikeways <br />and green space corridors. <br />(g) To generate community involvement in the development of parks and their <br />elements. <br />(h) To review and recommend revisions to the operation and maintenance of City <br />Parks. <br />(i) To periodically review, re-evaluate and update the comprehensive park plan to <br />reflect current. and future park needs of the City. <br />306.07 —Park Commission By -Laws <br />L A schedule of meeting dates shall be established and changed or altered at any regularly <br />scheduled meeting between the Chair and public Works Director. <br />2. Additional meetings may be held at any time upon the call of the Chair or by a majority of the <br />voting members of the Parks Commission or upon request of the City Council following at <br />
