ANTHONY 1 <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES 2 <br />AUGUST 13, 2019 3 <br /> 4 <br />CALL TO ORDER. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 7 <br /> 8 <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. 11 <br /> 12 <br />ROLL CALL. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Present: Mayor Faust, Councilmembers Gray, Jenson, Randle and Stille. 15 <br />Absent: None 16 <br />Also Present: City Manager Mark Casey 17 <br />Guests: Dr. Renee Corneille, St. Anthony – New Brighton School District Superintendent and 18 <br />Ms. Jen Kullgren, Forester-Hennepin County Environment and Energy. 19 <br /> 20 <br />CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING 21 <br />ITEMS. 22 <br /> 23 <br />I. APPROVAL OF AUGUST 13, 2019 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City 26 <br />Council Meeting Agenda of August 13, 2019. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Motion carried 5-0. 29 <br /> 30 <br />II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. 31 <br /> 32 <br />A. St. Anthony-New Brighton School District Update 33 <br /> 34 <br />Superintendent Renee Corneille provided a PowerPoint update on the School District, noting she 35 <br />has been in her position for one year. The school district is purpose-driven. Dr. Corneille 36 <br />reviewed some historical documents from 1954. The 2014 mission and vision were reviewed 37 <br />along with the strategic directions. The other ways of measuring success within the school 38 <br />district were described. In the School District there are 310 staff members, 1810 students and 39 <br />9876 community members. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Councilmember Stille noted Dr. Corneille mentioned community in her presentation and he 42 <br />asked the school district reach out to the City when assistance is needed. He noted the City 43 <br />Council also has high expectations. Councilmember Stille stated he appreciates the ongoing great 44 <br />relationship between the City Council and the School District. 45 <br /> 46 <br />Councilmember Randle commented his son is going into high school this year and he is very 47 <br />happy with what the school has provided for him and the direction the district is taking. 48 <br /> 49 <br />1
