A. Resolution 19-067; a Resolution Approving Wine/Beer License for Hickory Hog Grill & 1 <br />Smokehouse located at 3900 Silver Lake Road. 2 <br /> 3 <br />City Manager Casey stated the Council is asked to consider approval of a combination 4 <br />Wine/Strong Beer License for Hickory Hog located at 3900 Silver Lake Road. This is a new 5 <br />business opening where Smashburger use to be located. He stated staff has completed 6 <br />background checks and recommends approval. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mr. Lars Karlson, owner of Hickory Hog, explained in 2015 he started a food truck in the area 9 <br />with great success and has recently had the opportunity to open a restaurant. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Motion by Councilmember Jenson, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve Resolution 12 <br />19-067; a Resolution Approving Wine/Beer License for Hickory Hog Grill & Smokehouse 13 <br />located at 3900 Silver Lake Road. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Motion carried 5-0. 16 <br /> 17 <br />B. Fire Prevention Presentation. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Fire Chief Sitarz introduced Lieutenant Mattie Jaros to the Council who used a PowerPoint to 20 <br />provide a presentation related to fire prevention. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Mayor Faust indicated he was glad the Fire Department was concerned about children’s anxiety 23 <br />when doing fire drills. He noted apartments are required by code to have fire alarms, so the Fire 24 <br />Department is putting efforts into homes without fire alarms. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Councilmember Jenson asked regarding the file for life, what has the response been in the past 27 <br />because this has been provided for several years, or at least something similar. Lieutenant Jaros 28 <br />explained the residents love it. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Councilmember Stille put a plug in for the open house and Village big rigs. This is a community 31 <br />event he wanted to promote for new families in the community. He thanked the Fire Department 32 <br />for doing that. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Mayor Faust thanked the Fire Department and their involvement in the community. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Informational; no action required. 37 <br /> 38 <br />C. Resolution 19-068; a Resolution Authorizing Mayor and City Manager to Approve 39 <br />Toward Zero Deaths Grant. 40 <br /> 41 <br />City Manager Casey stated this is a request to authorize the approval of the Toward Zero Deaths 42 <br />Grant. He noted this grant was originally administered by Ramsey County but is now being 43 <br />administered by the City of St. Paul. He introduced Police Lieutenant Diegnau. 44 <br /> 45 <br />Police Lieutenant Diegnau explained the Towards Zero Deaths Grant program. 46 <br />2
