City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />January 28, 2020 <br />Page 3 <br />1 <br />2 Mayor Stille indicated he liked that this engages the community. <br />3 <br />4 Motion by Councilmember Webster, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the request <br />5 for a Special Event for the 2nd Annual Village Winterfest along with use of Central Park Pavilion <br />6 and approval of a temporary liquor license in the Central Park Pavilion on Saturday, March 7th <br />7 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. <br />8 <br />9 Motion carried 4-0. <br />10 <br />11 B. City of St. Anthony Snow and Ice Control Operations Presentation. <br />12 <br />13 Public Works Director Jay Hartman made a presentation to the City Council. <br />14 <br />15 Councilmember Jenson appreciated how efficient the Public Works team is in getting out and <br />16 snowplowing and all of the other services. <br />17 <br />18 Mayor Stille also supported the Public Works group and appreciated them. He thanked Mr. <br />19 Hartman for the presentation. <br />20 <br />21 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />22 <br />23 City Manager Casey reported that On Tuesday, February 25th will be the night of the Caucus' so <br />24 the Council meeting will be moved to Wednesday, February 26th at 7:00 p.m. <br />25 <br />26 Councilmember Webster stated she attended the League of Minnesota Cities Elected Members <br />27 Institute on January 24-25 and really appreciated the opportunity to learn more about her role as <br />28 a Councilmember. She also wanted to thank Mr. Mike Larson; Manager of the City liquor stores <br />29 for contributing to the news article on Sunday. She explained she has been trying to connect to <br />30 the committees that she is a liaison and the Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Chamber event <br />31 this Friday with esteemed guest Mayor Stille on Friday at 7:00 am at the Northeast Coffee Shop. <br />32 She thanked Mr. Hartman for the update on the Public Works. She noted she had a chance to <br />33 meet with Julianne Hunter who Chairs the all -volunteer led Village fest Committee and one of <br />34 the things she emphasized is that VillageFest and WinterFest is City supported but not City <br />35 funded and she pointed out that the event would not be possible without the help of the Public <br />36 Works Department. <br />37 <br />38 Councilmember Jenson stated he attended a Worksession last Tuesday where Development 65 <br />39 Concept review was presented. Senior housing concept located on the Lowry Grove (Urban <br />40 Grove) property. This was a preliminary presentation and no decisions were made. <br />41 <br />42 Councilmember Walker stated he attended the League of Minnesota Cities Elected Members <br />43 Institute and he thought it was very informative and augmented a lot of things the City Manager <br />44 has presented to him. <br />45 <br />
