2019 Annual Report • Administration • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

49

removal of the existing Walmart structure, and replace it with nearly 500 residential apartment
units in a two-phase project over 3-4 years.

Also considered by the City were multi-family projects in the south portion of the City. One of
these is a multiple-property concept that would redevelop the current Bremer Bank property to
a new senior apartment building, relocate Bremer Bank to a City property nearby, and transfer
an existing vacant parcel to the City. This project is still being refined and the applicants are
expected to approach the City with a formal application in 2020. Similarly, the City was
approached with a concept to develop a portion of the Urban Grove Manufactured Home Park
property with a senior apartment project. The concept was discussed in general, and more
extensive application and review is anticipated in 2020.

Finally, a concept review of a possible multiple family project proposed on a collection of City
and private parcels along Stinson Boulevard – west of the current Silver Lake Village area – was
discussed. This project was presented in general concept form in early 2019, but has not
proceeded beyond that discussion as of this report.

OPEN TO BUSINESS
Open to Business provides one on one business counseling to current and
prospective entrepreneurs.
