<br />2019 Annual Report • Administration • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />50 <br /> <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br />On a quarterly basis the City Manager convenes a meeting with the Planner, Engineer, Fire <br />Marshal, Fire Chief (code enforcement), Finance Director, License/Permits Clerk and <br />Administrative Services Coordinator, as well as outside financial and legal consultants when <br />applicable. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss issues, share information and updates <br />that affect current and potential development. These meetings also include parties with <br />potential development interests to present concepts for major project proposals, and obtain <br />early staff feedback prior to formal land use application. <br /> <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT <br />The City of St. Anthony Village is <br />responsible for several development <br />functions, which includes building <br />inspections. In 2015, St. Anthony entered <br />into an agreement with the City of New <br />Brighton for building inspection services. <br />The building inspector is responsible for <br />enforcing the uniform building, <br />electrical, mechanical and plumbing <br />codes. The inspector also works closely <br />with the Fire Department in enforcing <br />fire and life safety codes. Applications <br />for new construction projects are <br />reviewed and building permits are <br />granted after a planning check is <br />completed to determine compliance with <br />building and zoning codes. <br /> <br /> <br />
