City Engineer Justin Messner stated Doran SLV, LLC has submitted an application to re-plat a 1
portion of the Silver Lake Village plat. The resolution vacates the existing drainage and utility 2
easement as recorded on the original Silver Lake Village plat. 3
4
Councilmember Jenson thought it made sense because the building will overlap on top of a 5
portion of the sewer line. When will the construction take place once the easement is vacated 6
and the sewer line is moved. City Engineer Messner explained the developer indicated 7
demolition will begin in early spring and at the time of that the storm sewer will be relocated and 8
be a part of the construction on the project. 9
10
Mayor Stille indicated if this is not approved then the project will not happen because no one 11
will build on top of a pipe or easement. City Engineer Messner indicated that was correct. 12
13
Mayor Stille opened the public hearing at 7:05 p.m. 14
15
Mr. Christian, owner of Carbone’s Pizza, thought this will be quite well for his business. He 16
asked what the timelines will be. City Manager Casey explained the City is still waiting for 17
permits to come in but the first permit to come in would be a demo permit and the City has not 18
received that yet. He noted all of the information will be on the City’s website and updates will 19
be provided on a regular basis. 20
21
Mr. Dan Kuntz, member of the community, asked if the developer intended on having a 22
temporary drainage plan between the demolition and the rebuild. City Engineer Messner 23
explained the way the existing storm sewer is set up the developer plans on constructing a new 24
storm sewer leaving the old storm sewer in place and live and then make the connection and 25
remove the old storm sewer. 26
27
City Manager Casey indicated throughout the entire project it will be overseen by City Engineer 28
Messner’s staff to make sure everything is in compliance with both City Code and also State 29
Laws. 30
31
There being no additional public input, Mayor Stille closed the public hearing at 7:08 p.m. 32
33
34
Motion by Councilmember Jenson, seconded by Councilmember Randle, to approve Resolution 35
20-011; a Resolution approving application from Doran SLV, LLC for the vacation of all those 36
drainage and utility easements, originally dedicated on the recorded plat of Silver Lake Village. 37
38
Motion carried 5-0. 39
40
V.
