2019 Annual Report • Administration • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

37

ELECTIONS
During our 2019 Municipal and School District election 44% of registered voters in St. Anthony
voted. The results were close, so close that only five votes separated second (Bernard Walker)
and third (Hal Gray) place! Per state statute, if the difference between votes cast is less than one-
quarter of one percent of the total votes for office, a publicly funded recount may be requested.
Since St. Anthony contracts with Ramsey County for elections administration, our recount was
completed by Ramsey County Elections staff on November 15, 2019. During the recount, all the
ballots cast were manually separated by precinct and counted by hand. The results of the
recount confirmed a four vote difference separating second (Bernard Walker) and third (Hal
Gray) place.

The 2020 election year is a presidential election year, and there are three election dates to be
aware of:
Presidential Primary, March 3, 2020
2. Statewide Primary, August 11, 2020
3. Presidential Election, November 3,
2020
Updated election information will be
provided during 2020 on our elections
webpage at www.savmn.com/elections.
