<br />2019 Annual Report • Administration • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />38 <br /> <br />REFUSE & RECYCLING <br />In 2015, the City of St. Anthony began a five year agreement for organized collection of <br />residential solid waste. This initiative has been a long standing objective of the City Council as <br />part of the City’s goal of building and cultivating environmental responsibility. In 2019, the <br />organized collection contract was extended until April 1, 2021. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Evey year St. Anthony applies and has received Recycling Grants through both Hennepin and <br />Ramsey County. Hennepin and Ramsey County both have very different grant requirements. <br />For Hennepin County, the funds received through the grant are used towards sustainability <br />efforts and outreach to St. Anthony residents. Ramsey County’s grant funds are applied to fees <br />for the Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) that is held between Ramsey County and the City of St. <br />Anthony. The JPA with Ramsey County allows all of St. Anthony residents to use the yard <br />waste facilities as well as the hazardous waste collection sites in Ramsey County with no <br />additional cost to St. Anthony residents. The JPA a lso covers our organics drop off site available <br />to all St. Anthony residents. <br />
