2019 Annual Report • Public Works Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />V. 2019 PARKS COMMISSION <br />The Parks Commission consists of five members appointed by City Council. Terms are for three <br />years with appointments made in January. In 2019, the Parks Commission consisted of the <br />following members <br />Erin Jordahl-Redlin-Chairperson <br /> Therese Bellinger-Vice Chairperson <br /> Sarah Ksiazek <br /> Marnie Overman <br /> Jessica Rengstorf <br />In addition to these members, there are two additional representatives; one from the St. <br />Anthony New-Brighton School District and one Student Liaison. <br />In 2019, the Parks Commission adopted the Parks Commission Work Plan. The Work Plan is a <br />schedule of objectives established by the Parks Commission and City Council which provides <br />an efficient method of prioritizing and achieving the most important goals as identified by the <br />Parks Commission and City Council to work on <br />during 2019. <br /> Education and outreach in conjunction <br />with community organizations to promote <br />use of the organics drop off site <br /> Possible ordinance changes to protect <br />pollinator habitat <br /> Recommend and implement revisions to <br />Commission name, purpose, membership, <br />and duties to incorporate sustainability <br /> Explore pedestrian and bike friendly <br />routes <br /> Joint meeting with Planning Commission <br /> Explore water conservation initiatives <br />working with Rice Creek and MWMO <br />watersheds, and partner with schools for <br />water conservation poster contest <br /> Promote Arbor Day and Tree City in 2019 <br />activities, including outreach and <br />education to residents and city contractors <br />about tree diversity, climate resiliency, and proper planting techniques
