City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />February 26, 2020 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />City Manage r Casey reviewed the Resolution approving an On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License 1 <br />for Steele & Hops located at 2800 39th Avenue NE 2 <br /> 3 <br />Mr. Bob Kinsella, owner Steele & Hops, addressed the City Council. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Councilmember Jenson complimented Mr. Kinsella on the business and thought it would be a 6 <br />good fit in St. Anthony. He asked what type of food format this will be. Mr. Kinsella explained 7 <br />it will be similar to their restaurant in Woodbury, Tamarack Taproom and also their Barley and 8 <br />Vine Restaurant in Lakeville. These menus will find success especially in a little more suburban 9 <br />setting like this and there will be a mixture of offerings and price points. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Councilmember Randle asked what the seating capacity is. Mr. Kinsella thought it was around 12 <br />150 to 180 but was not sure at this time. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Councilmember Webster welcomed the business to St. Anthony and noted the Chamber of 15 <br />Commerce likes to do ribbon cuttings and informed Mr. Kinsella as the opening day nears to 16 <br />contact the City in order to help plan that with the Chamber of Commerce. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Councilmember Walker explained he did have a chance to look at the menu being offered, and 19 <br />he did like the options being offered for people who do not eat meat. He also liked that the 20 <br />business will be open until 11:00 p.m. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Mayor Stille welcomed the business to the community. He asked Mr. Kinsella to comment on 23 <br />community involvement because he thought that it was a big part of what the business is about as 24 <br />well. Mr. Kinsella indicated the restaurant does well at hiring from the area and young kids 25 <br />looking for their first job. He stated they love bringing those kids into the restaurant 26 <br />environment and want to make sure it is positive for them and a positive experience. Some other 27 <br />things that have been done, which is different at each location and what the community asks of 28 <br />them, the restaurant will do fundraisers for teams and schools. He reviewed some of the events 29 <br />that are done at their different restaurants and locations. 30 <br /> 31 <br />There being no additional public input, Mayor Stille closed the public hearing at 7:17 p.m. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Motion by Councilmember Jenson, seconded by Councilmember Webster, to approve Resolution 34 <br />20-021; a Resolution Approving On-Sale Liquor License for Steele and Hops located at 2800 35 <br />39th Avenue NE. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Motion carried 5-0. 38 <br /> 39 <br />V.
