individuals and the Northeaster will be recognized at the Chambers Annual Meeting on 1 <br />Thursday, April 16th. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Councilmember Webster explained as Liaison to Village Fest, Village Fest partnered with the 4 <br />Voyagers to host Winterfest this past Saturday at Central Park and it was a really great 5 <br />community event to celebrate the end of winter and onset of spring. She thanked the planners for 6 <br />that event. She noted she is continuing her process of meeting all of the department heads. She 7 <br />has met with four of the department heads and will meet with the fifth one tomorrow. She will 8 <br />be meeting with Mr. Sitarz. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Councilmember Randle stated he attended the Winterfest as well and it was a pretty good 11 <br />turnout. He thought it was good to have events like that to bring people together because you 12 <br />usually don’t see people until spring. It is a good event to get out and about and was a good time 13 <br />to be had by everyone and he looked forward to next year’s event. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Councilmember Jenson stated he did not have a report at this time. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Councilmember Walker stated he attended the Parks Commission meeting and there are some 18 <br />interesting things coming down the pike and he looked forward to being involved in the Parks 19 <br />Commission with the budgets for this year. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Mayor Stille stated on March 7th he had coffee with Alyssa Baguss, the supervisor for 22 <br />Silverwood Park along with Councilmember Jenson. It was a get to know one another meeting 23 <br />and Ms. Baguss was interested in promoting Arts Beyond Silverwood. She is aware of some 24 <br />grants for local artists so something to keep in mind. He indicated he also attended Winterfest in 25 <br />the afternoon and thought it was a very nice event. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Mayor Stille explained on March 9th he attended the Regional Council of Mayors and Brian 28 <br />Reaks spoke, the Director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, talking about how the 29 <br />airport is so important to the region and all the Mayors were able to hear all of the improvements 30 <br />that were done and have planned. March 10th in the afternoon he attended, as a Board Member 31 <br />of the Mississippi Water Management Organization their March Board meeting and talked about 32 <br />the Upper Harbor Storm Water Treatment Plants that is on the other side of the Mississippi 33 <br />River. Talked extensively about the Columbia Golf Course best management practices. He 34 <br />noted the golf course might be disrupted in the next year. He indicated they had to take back the 35 <br />$250,000 grant discussed earlier that was intended to use for stormwater treatment or cleaning up 36 <br />of the stormwater down in the industrial area. He thought they can get that back if a use can be 37 <br />made for it. 38 <br /> 39 <br />VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Mayor Stille invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that 42 <br />are not on the regular agenda. 43 <br /> 44 <br />Hearing none, Mayor Stille moved forward with the agenda. 45 <br /> 46 <br />10
