St. Anthony Public Works Department Annual Report. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Director of Public Works Hartman presented the Public Works Department Annual Report to the 16 <br />City Council. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Councilmember Webster thanked Mr. Hartman for the opportunity to learn about the 19 <br />sustainability practices that Public Works is engaging in. She thanked him for hosting the Smart 20 <br />Salting Seminar. She understood Mr. Hartman’s team has worked really hard at capturing the 21 <br />water Central Park with the splash pad and the preschoolers and Village kids are big fans of the 22 <br />splash pad. She understood in past years his team has looked at how it might reduce hours at the 23 <br />splash pad to conserve water and was appreciative of how they are looking for ways to conserve 24 <br />resources. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Councilmember Jenson commended Mr. Hartman’s entire team on how they demonstrate 27 <br />ownership to residents of St. Anthony and the fact that they have held their census count flat for 28 <br />twenty-five years is incredible. He noted if there is a big snowstorm it is plowed within six 29 <br />hours which is amazing. Not many cities have that capability or willingness. He wanted to 30 <br />thank Mr. Hartman and his team and staff. Mr. Hartman indicated he appreciated that. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Mayor Stille thanked Mr. Hartman for his presentation and all the hard work done by his staff. 33 <br /> 34 <br />VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. 35 <br /> 36 <br />City Manager Casey reported that yesterday Doran submitted their demolition plans for the 37 <br />former Wal-Mart site and anticipate that happening in early April. He also noted on Saturday, 38 <br />March 21st will be Coffee with the Council at 9:00 a.m. at the Landings and two weeks from 39 <br />tonight at the next Council meeting the same night will be Cops VS Kids basketball starting at 40 <br />6:20 p.m. at the high school. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Councilmember Webster stated as the Council Liaison to the Chamber of Commerce, the 43 <br />Chamber announced their Villager of the Year/Business of the Year. The Villages of the Year 44 <br />are Lona and Bob Doolan and the Business of the Year is the Northeaster Newspaper. Those 45 <br />9
