Mayor 1 <br />Stille thought the City Council should cancel the March 24th meeting if the Council agrees with 2 <br />him. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Motion by Councilmember Jenson, seconded by Councilmember Walker, to cancel the March 5 <br />24, 2020 City Council meeting and move the agenda items to the April 14, 2020 City Council 6 <br />meeting. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Motion carried 5-0. 9 <br /> 10 <br />VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Mayor Stille asked for an update from Councilmember Webster on how the Community Services 13 <br />Department has been fairing over the last couple of weeks. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Councilmember Webster indicated that this week the School District is on Spring Break and the 16 <br />Governor did choose to close Minnesota Schools from March 18th through March 27th for the 17 <br />purpose of planning for distance learning to begin on March 30th. What that looks like for the 18 <br />School District as a whole, starting Monday, March 23rd, when all of the staff return back from 19 <br />Spring Break an all staff meeting will be hosted with some virtual and some of it in enlarged 20 <br />space in order to follow social distancing rules. This meeting will be to help staff understand 21 <br />what the week of planning will look like starting March 30th when distance learning begins and 22 <br />what that will look like as well. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Councilmember Webster explained also starting March 23rd, families did receive an email earlier 25 <br />in the day that they have to also start providing daily food deliveries. There will be four drop 26 <br />sites in which families can go and pick up food delivery every day. She explained Community 27 <br />Services effectively shut down its operations on Tuesday, March 17th and starting Wednesday, 28 <br />March 18th they opened emergency childcare for first responders and health care professionals in 29 <br />the community. For children 12 and younger, if the resident is a first responder or health care 30 <br />professional please give them a call-in order to get set up for child care which is every day from 31 <br />6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and includes breakfast, lunch and a snack and is 32 <br />staffed by the Village Kids staff this week. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Councilmember Webster stated something else residents can look forward to is they are looking 35 <br />at ways in which they can deliver some community outreach. Look for staff making phone calls 36 <br />to residents because they want to check in with community members at this time and know that 37 <br />spending a lot of time in homes alone can be difficult with regards to social isolation and they 38 <br />want to reach out to get people the resources that they may need. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Councilmember Webster reminded residents that if healthy to please give blood. That is 41 <br />something that is needed at this time. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Councilmember Jenson stated last week on March 13th he attended the Ramsey County Local 44 <br />League of Governments and they had a guest speaker, Charlie Zelly and he talked about high 45 <br />16
