City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />March 10, 2020 <br />Page 10 <br />1 individuals and the Northeaster will be recognized at the Chambers Annual Meeting on <br />2 Thursday, April 16th. <br />3 <br />4 Councilmember Webster explained as Liaison to Village Fest, Village Fest partnered with the <br />5 Voyagers to host Winterfest this past Saturday at Central Park and it was a really great <br />6 community event to celebrate the end of winter and onset of spring. She thanked the planners for <br />7 that event. She noted she is continuing her process of meeting all of the department heads. She <br />8 has met with four of the department heads and will meet with the fifth one tomorrow. She will <br />9 be meeting with Mr. Sitarz. <br />10 <br />11 Councilmember Randle stated he attended the Winterfest as well and it was a pretty good <br />12 turnout. He thought it was good to have events like that to bring people together because you <br />13 usually don't see people until spring. It is a good event to get out and about and was a good time <br />14 to be had by everyone and he looked forward to next year's event. <br />15 <br />16 Councilmember Jenson stated he did not have a report at this time. <br />17 <br />18 Councilmember Walker stated he attended the Parks Commission meeting and there are some <br />19 interesting things coming down the pike and he looked forward to being involved in the Parks <br />20 Commission with the budgets for this year. <br />21 <br />22 Mayor Stille stated on March 7th he had coffee with Alyssa Baguss, the supervisor for <br />23 Silverwood Park along with Councilmember Jenson. It was a get to know one another meeting <br />24 and Ms. Baguss was interested in promoting Arts Beyond Silverwood. She is aware of some <br />25 grants for local artists so something to keep in mind. He indicated he also attended Winterfest in <br />26 the afternoon and thought it was a very nice event. <br />27 <br />28 Mayor Stille explained on March 9th he attended the Regional Council of Mayors and Brian <br />29 Reaks spoke, the Director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, talking about how the <br />30 airport is so important to the region and all the Mayors were able to hear all of the improvements <br />31 that were done and have planned. March 10th in the afternoon he attended, as a Board Member <br />32 of the Mississippi Water Management Organization their March Board meeting and talked about <br />33 the Upper Harbor Storm Water Treatment Plants that is on the other side of the Mississippi <br />34 River. Talked extensively about the Columbia Golf Course best management practices. He <br />35 noted the golf course might be disrupted in the next year. He indicated they had to take back the <br />36 $250,000 grant discussed earlier that was intended to use for stormwater treatment or cleaning up <br />37 of the stormwater down in the industrial area. He thought they can get that back if a use can be <br />38 made for it. <br />39 <br />40 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />41 <br />42 Mayor Stille invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />43 are not on the regular agenda. <br />44 <br />45 Hearing none, Mayor Stille moved forward with the agenda. <br />46 <br />
