City Council Regular Meeting Minutes
March 10, 2020
Page 10
individuals and the Northeaster will be recognized at the Chambers Annual Meeting on
Thursday, April 16th.

Councilmember Webster explained as Liaison to Village Fest, Village Fest partnered with the
Voyagers to host Winterfest this past Saturday at Central Park and it was a really great
community event to celebrate the end of winter and onset of spring. She thanked the planners for
that event. She noted she is continuing her process of meeting all of the department heads. She
has met with four of the department heads and will meet with the fifth one tomorrow. She will
be meeting with Mr. Sitarz.

Councilmember Randle stated he attended the Winterfest as well and it was a pretty good
turnout. He thought it was good to have events like that to bring people together because you
usually don't see people until spring. It is a good event to get out and about and was a good time
to be had by everyone and he looked forward to next year's event.

Councilmember Jenson stated he did not have a report at this time.

Councilmember Walker stated he attended the Parks Commission meeting and there are some
interesting things coming down the pike and he looked forward to being involved in the Parks
Commission with the budgets for this year.

Mayor Stille stated on March 7th he had coffee with Alyssa Baguss, the supervisor for
Silverwood Park along with Councilmember Jenson. It was a get to know one another meeting
and Ms. Baguss was interested in promoting Arts Beyond Silverwood. She is aware of some
grants for local artists so something to keep in mind. He indicated he also attended Winterfest in
the afternoon and thought it was a very nice event.

Mayor Stille explained on March 9th he attended the Regional Council of Mayors and Brian
Reaks spoke, the Director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, talking about how the
airport is so important to the region and all the Mayors were able to hear all of the improvements
that were done and have planned. March 10th in the afternoon he attended, as a Board Member
of the Mississippi Water Management Organization their March Board meeting and talked about
the Upper Harbor Storm Water Treatment Plants that is on the other side of the Mississippi
River. Talked extensively about the Columbia Golf Course best management practices. He
noted the golf course might be disrupted in the next year. He indicated they had to take back the
$250,000 grant discussed earlier that was intended to use for stormwater treatment or cleaning up
of the stormwater down in the industrial area. He thought they can get that back if a use can be
made for it.

VIII.
