City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />March 10, 2020 <br />Page 9 <br />1 develop and hearing that the GreenCorp members do not get the same treatment in other cities <br />2 and hopefully that will help the City get another GreenCorp member is successive years but if <br />3 nothing else he hoped the City can get one every other year. He thanked Mr. Casey for putting <br />4 himself out there and helping these kids. Mr. Casey indicated this is definitely a team effort and <br />5 has been real rewarding for their culture. He noted the GreenCorp members direct supervisor <br />6 would be the Public Works Director Jay Hartman. <br />7 <br />8 Motion by Councilmember Walker, seconded by Councilmember Webster, to approve <br />9 Resolution 20-029; a Resolution Authorizing Participation in the 2020-2021 GreenCorp <br />10 Program. <br />11 <br />12 Motion carried 5-0. <br />13 <br />14 I. St. Anthony Public Works Department Annual Report. <br />15 <br />16 Director of Public Works Hartman presented the Public Works Department Annual Report to the <br />17 City Council. <br />18 <br />19 Councilmember Webster thanked Mr. Hartman for the opportunity to learn about the <br />20 sustainability practices that Public Works is engaging in. She thanked him for hosting the Smart <br />21 Salting Seminar. She understood Mr. Hartman's team has worked really hard at capturing the <br />22 water Central Park with the splash pad and the preschoolers and Village kids are big fans of the <br />23 splash pad. She understood in past years his team has looked at how it might reduce hours at the <br />24 splash pad to conserve water and was appreciative of how they are looking for ways to conserve <br />25 resources. <br />26 <br />27 Councilmember Jenson commended Mr. Hartman's entire team on how they demonstrate <br />28 ownership to residents of St. Anthony and the fact that they have held their census count flat for <br />29 twenty-five years is incredible. He noted if there is a big snowstorm it is plowed within six <br />30 hours which is amazing. Not many cities have that capability or willingness. He wanted to <br />31 thank Mr. Hartman and his team and staff. Mr. Hartman indicated he appreciated that. <br />32 <br />33 Mayor Stille thanked Mr. Hartman for his presentation and all the hard work done by his staff. <br />34 <br />35 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />36 <br />37 City Manager Casey reported that yesterday Doran submitted their demolition plans for the <br />38 former Wal-Mart site and anticipate that happening in early April. He also noted on Saturday, <br />39 March 21st will be Coffee with the Council at 9:00 a.m. at the Landings and two weeks from <br />40 tonight at the next Council meeting the same night will be Cops VS Kids basketball starting at <br />41 6:20 p.m. at the high school. <br />42 <br />43 Councilmember Webster stated as the Council Liaison to the Chamber of Commerce, the <br />44 Chamber announced their Villager of the Year/Business of the Year. The Villages of the Year <br />45 are Lona and Bob Doolan and the Business of the Year is the Northeaster Newspaper. Those <br />
