2019 Annual Report • Police Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

12 | Page

September
Patrol officers were notified of a male at a local business that had been threatening suicide.
Officers made contact with this party and followed up with family members. This subject’s
family was extremely concerned that this male might try to kill himself and requested assistance
from available resources. A mental health transport hold was completed and this male taken to
a local hospital by ambulance.
October
Officers received a radio call of a disturbance at an apartment complex. Officers learned that a
female had been locked out of a relative’s apartment and was without shoes, a coat, and a cell
phone. She was provided safe shelter at the police department. She was also provided with
shoes and a coat that were donated by Community Services. She requested and was provided a
courtesy transport to downtown Minneapolis.
November
Patrol officers received a radio call to a local business on a report of a suspicious male that was
involved in a shoplifting incident and had fled their store and entered an adjacent business.
Officers located the suspect in the adjacent business. He had painted his face blue in attempts
to disguise his identity and was consuming stolen mouthwash at the time of his apprehension.
The original caller elected to not pursue criminal charges and only have the party trespassed.
December
Officers received an emergency medical radio call of a resident that had suffered an amputation
from working with machinery. Officers assisted medics with patient care until he could be
transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
