City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />September 8, 2020 <br />Page 4 <br />1 Interim City Manager Yunker reported that clean up day is Saturday, September 12th from 8:00 <br />2 am to 2:00 pm at Public Works. He noted there is a link for people to sign up online for a time <br />3 slot which will help keep things running smoothly. <br />4 <br />5 Councilmember Walker stated he is entering his third online session of a book reading called <br />6 "Stamped", which covers anti -racism and is primarily set for high school students and parents of <br />7 the students. <br />8 <br />9 Councilmember Webster stated she is a Liaison to the Community Services Advisory Council <br />10 and there is a meeting on Thursday, September 1 0tn. She indicated she is also the Liaison to the <br />11 St. Anthony Qantas and there will be a work session on Wednesday, September 9th at 12:00 pm. <br />12 <br />13 Councilmember Randle stated on Sunday, September 13tn Sister Cities will be having their <br />14 retreat. The October visit from Finland Road show has been postponed. Sports Boosters will <br />15 have their first meeting on Wednesday, September 9tn <br />16 <br />17 Councilmember Jenson stated on Wednesday, August 26th he participated in Coffee with the <br />18 Council. On August 31 St he participated with the work session meeting the Council had. <br />19 September 3`d the Metro Cities Board of Directors met, and Metro Cities deployed an Ad hock <br />20 Race Equity Committee and the Board set a one-year timeline and approved a detailed scope of <br />21 work. He indicated they also finalized a new Race and Equity Policy Statement and sent that <br />22 forward. On September 4th he attended the Ramsey County Local League of Governments Exec. <br />23 Board meeting where they approved the financial budgets and are in the green. The Collective <br />24 Work Force Group presented their scope of work as a long-term improvement via policy <br />25 changes. Mental Health is the consensus issue as it affects everyone, schools, and communities. <br />26 This plan will be presented to the larger Board of Directors meeting on Friday, September 11tn <br />27 <br />28 Mayor Stille stated he attended the August 31 St work session and heavy on the agenda was to get <br />29 the process started to recruit a recruiter for the City Manager position and should be coming <br />30 before the Council at the next meeting for voting. On September 8th he attended the Mississippi <br />31 Water Management Organization Board meeting. <br />32 <br />33 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />34 <br />35 Mayor Stille invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />36 are not on the regular agenda. <br />37 <br />38 Hearing none, Mayor Stille moved forward with the agenda. <br />39 <br />40 IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br />41 <br />42 Mayor Stille noted looking forward to October 6th, potentially is the Night To Unite designated <br />43 night. <br />44 <br />45 <br />46 <br />
