St. Anthony City Council and Mayor <br />March 3, 2021 <br />I am writing you this letter at the request of St. Anthony resident Dave Colling. Dave visited my <br />home to talk to me about Tommy’s Express Car Wash on Bass Lake Road in New Hope and my <br />experience living near the facility. We were not able to talk when he visited but he left his phone <br />number and we were able to speak on the phone. Dave asked if I would submit a letter of my <br />experience and I agreed. As I understand from Dave the car wesh being proposed in St, Anthony <br />near his home will be built the same as the one next to mine. I live directly behind the car wash <br />at 5543 Maryland. <br />The entire neighborhood within our area has been dealing with noise problems and garbage <br />caused by the customers using the vacuums at the car wash. Most of the noise comes from radios <br />playing and people yelling to each other over the noise of the vacuums. Although the noise <br />coming from the vacuums is loud enough for me to hear, even with the 8 foot wood fence <br />between us, it’s the noise coming from those using the car wash that has caused me to call and <br />speak regularly with the workers at the car wash. Early on the recorded message telling <br />customers entering the car wash to take their foot off the brake was so loud I could hear it in my <br />home. The recording was eventually turned down and now I am only able to hear it outside or in <br />my home with the windows open. <br />I wanted to let you know what it is like living next to this car wash, and the constant noise I have <br />to live with both inside and outside my home.
